2-32 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
DRIVE CHAIN LUBRICATION
• Remove the chain clip

and master link from the drive chain
and remove the drive chain.
NOTE:
Be careful not to bend the chain clip

.
• Inspect for wear and damage of the drive chain and replace it
if necessary.
• Clean the drive chain with non-flammable cleaning solvent.
• Dry the drive chain.
• Apply Suzuki Chain Lube or equivalent to the link plates and
rollers.
• Reassemble the drive chain.
NOTE:
Reassemble the drive chain clip so the slit end faces opposite
the direction of rotation.
• Inspect the drive chain slack. (

SPROCKET INSPECTION
Inspect the engine sprocket and rear sprocket for wear and
cracks. Replace the sprockets as necessary.
NOTE:
When replacing a worn sprocket, it is likely that the drive chain
will need to be replaced as well.
