GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
REMOVAL
• Drain engine oil. (
2-13)
• Drain engine coolant. (
14-3)
• Remove the gearshift lever

by removing its bolt

NOTE:
Mark the gearshift shaft head

set for correct reinstallation.
• Remove the right crankcase cover and clutch component
parts. (
7-9, 8-3)
• Remove the gearshift shaft assembly

and washer

• Remove the washer

, snap ring

and return spring

the gearshift shaft

• Remove the gearshift pawl lifter

by removing its screws

• Remove the gearshift cam driven gear

NOTE:
Be careful not to drop the pins and springs when removing the
gearshift cam driven gear.
