The service information in this chapter is for the use of Qualified Service
Personnel. To avoid shock, do not perform any procedures in this chapter unless
you are qualified to do so.
x
Read and follow all ““Safety and Precaution”” warnings before servicing the
product.
x
Dangerous voltages, capable of causing injury or death, are present in this
instrument. Use extreme caution whenever servicing any of its parts.
x
Carefully follow the instructions in this chapter. Failure to do so might result in
serious personal injury and damage to the instrument.
x
Do not substitute parts or modify the instrument. Because of the danger of
introducing additional hazards, do not install substitute parts or perform any
unauthorized modification to the product. Do not use the product if it has
unauthorized modifications. Return the product to SRS for service and repair to
ensure that safety features are maintained.
x
Use only SRS supplied replacement parts.
x
Disconnect the ECU box from the probe before servicing any of the probe
components.
x
Turn off the emission and wait for at least 30 minutes before removing a probe
from a vacuum chamber. Serious burns can occur if the probe components are
handled too soon.
x
Use proper vacuum procedures when handling the probe.
x
Avoid contaminating the probe:
x
Work in a clean, dust free area. A clean room compatible environment is
best.
x
Do not talk or breath on any of the parts.
x
Wear gloves!
x
Use clean tools during service procedures!
x
Wear face masks, hair covers and no facial make-up.
x
Protect the integrity of the vacuum seals:
x
Avoid scratching the metal seals.
x
Do not use nonmetal seals.
x
Verify that the vacuum port is electrically grounded before attempting
installation of the RGA Head to the vacuum system.
