Reduction margin
The reduction margin is the value that determines whether to cut off an edge
or reduce the contents to fit on one sheet when the received document will not
fit in the printing area (page 1-43). If a document that is longer than the loaded
paper is received, the blank margin may be printed on the next page. This can
be prevented by setting the “reduction margin”. If the document length that
exceeds the printing area is within the reduction margin, you can reduce or cut
off the contents to fit on one sheet. Only when the exceeding length is longer
than the reduction margin, it is printed on a separate page.
NOTE
Set the reduction margin from 0 mm to 85 mm according to the blank length of often-
received documents. For details on setting the reduction margin, refer to “Other
Settings” (page 8-17).

margin, reduce or cut off the contents to fit on one sheet.
