Passcode and communication range

Communication range of closed transmission

•   When the closed transmission function is set to ON, you cannot send faxes 

to other brands of fax machines.

•   If you register a passcode, your machine does not send faxes to any 

machine for which a different passcode is registered. Refer to the following 

table (example where the passcode is set to 1234).

•   The closed transmission function of this machine is incompatible with 

that of our previous models. You cannot send faxes to a destination 

machine that uses the conventional closed communication function, even 

if the passcodes match.

If a communication error has occurred, a check message is printed. The error is denoted as 
error code “T.2.2”.

Communication range of closed reception

•   When the closed transmission function is set to ON, you cannot receive 

faxes from other brands of fax machines.

•   If you register a passcode, your machine does not receive faxes from any 

machine for which a different passcode is registered. Refer to the following 

table (example where the passcode is set to 1234).

•   In the case of Muratec conventional machines with the closed 

communication function provided, when the older version closed 

communication function is set to ON in the other machine, you can 

perform the closed reception function like a “with security function”.
