Macros
You can program operational steps for frequently-used functions to be registered
as “Macro” keys.
After programming, you can perform a series of key operations through one-
touch (page 8-49).
Programming fixed operations is useful if you often make and/or send the same
copy or fax.
• To program easily and quickly, check and record the operating instructions
first for the functions you want to program.
• There are three macro keys. Up to 60 operational steps can be programmed
for each key (One step is equivalent to one selection or press of a key).
• While you are programming a macro key, the beep sounds and the mode keys
(<Copy>, <Fax>, <Scanner>) blink, which indicate that the macro program is
underway. As the number of steps that can be registered approaches the limit,
the beep will sound and the mode keys will blink in shorter intervals.
• You cannot program the entry operations to include <Reset>, the speed dials,
or device setting operations.
• To cancel the operation in the middle of the process, press <Reset>.
