Reception
Primarily using the phone (Tel Mode)
You can pick up the handset and confirm the other party before starting the
reception.
• You need to connect the telephone to this machine.
• Set the fax reception mode to the “Tel Mode” in the user install setting (page
1-38).

When the telephone rings, pick up the handset.
In case of a phone, talk here.

Talk to the other party.
If it is a fax reception, you hear the beep or no sound.

Press <Start>.
Check the request of the other party, press <Start>, and put down
the handset.
When the other party is manually transmitting, there may be no
sound when you pick up the handset, so confirm on the phone that no
one is on the line before pressing <Start>.
When you hear the beep from the handset, the other party is
transmitting faxes. Press <Start> immediately.
If there is a document on the ADF, the transmission starts by
pressing <Start>. Be sure to check there is no document on the ADF.
