Useful Transmission Functions
Setting the resolution/contrast
Select the transmission resolution and contrast according to the document and text.
Transmission resolution

Press [Resol.].

Select the desired resolution using the cursor keys and press [Enter].

S-Fine

• Normal ....... To transmit the document containing the normal texts
• Fine ............ To transmit the document containing the small texts
(newspaper, etc.)
• S-Fine ......... To transmit a detailed illustration or fine text (dictionary
text)
• Photo .......... To transmit a photo
• Background ... To transmit without scanning the document background
with a base pattern or color.
Contrast

Press [Contrast].

Select the desired contrast using the cursor keys and press [Enter].
You can also press [
] [
] to select the contrast.
Select the contrast from five levels according to the document.

• Lightestl ..... To scan at the lightest contrast
• Lighter* ...... To scan between Lightest and Normal
• Normal ....... For normal documents
• Darker* ...... To scan between Darkest and Normal
• Darkest ...... To scan at the darkest contrast
* Not displayed.
NOTE
• You can change the default. For details on changing the default, refer to
“Transmission Default Settings” (page 8-15).
• The [S-Fine] mode may not always be supported by the other machine.
• A longer transmission time is required as the mode changes from Normal to Photo.
