Before Transmitting
Automatic document size detection
Document sizes which can be automatically detected
The sizes of the following standard size documents can be automatically
detected.
Scanning

• B5 or A5 size documents are transmitted as A4 size documents. (There will be
a blank area on the received document.)
• When setting the rotate transmission, A4 can be transmitted as A4 (page
8-18).
• Automatic document size detection is not available when the mirror carriage
under the document glass is operating.
When the document size cannot be automatically detected
When the document size cannot be automatically detected on the document
glass (ex. when you load the custom size document), specify the scan size
manually.

When the document size cannot be automatically detected, the
following screen is displayed.

Select the document size using the cursor keys and press [Enter].
NOTE
You can also specify the scan size in advance (page 4-42).


