Installing Feed Auger Fingers
The feed auger has fingers that extend and retract to pull crop into the feeder house on the combine. Fingers may need to
be installed onto the auger drum to change its configuration profile.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key before leaving the operator
’
s seat, and always engage the safety props before going under the
machine for any reason.
WARNING
Ensure that all bystanders have cleared the area.
IMPORTANT:
When installing additional fingers, ensure you install an equal number on each side of the auger.
1.
Raise the reel fully.
2.
Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
3.
Engage the reel safety props. For instructions, refer to
Engaging Reel Safety Props, page 33
.

Remove bolts (A) and access cover (B) closest to the finger
you are removing. Retain the parts for reinstallation.
