External Control (EXT. I/O)
This instrument can be controlled when the EXT. I/O connector on the back of the instrument is
used to output test and judgment result signals and input START and STOP signals, etc.
All signals are isolated with a photocoupler (the common terminal is shared for input and output).
The input circuit can be switched for current sink output (NPN) or current source output (PNP) in
the internal settings.
Check the input/output rating and internal circuit configuration. After understanding the safety
precautions, connect the control system and use the instrument correctly.
DANGER
Do not input any voltage/current exceeding the maximum input voltage/
current to the EXT. I/O connector.
Doing so can cause damage to the instrument, resulting in serious bodily injury.
WARNING
Do not input any external power to the EXT. I/O connector of the
instrument.
External power cannot be input to the EXT. I/O connector of the instrument. The
ISO_5 V terminal of the EXT. I/O has 5 V (NPN)/−5 V (PNP) power output. The
instrument can be damaged.
When connecting an instrument to the EXT. I/O connector of this
instrument, secure the connector using screws.
If the connector comes off during operation and comes in contact with another
conductive object, electric shock accidents may occur.
(The interlock cancellation jig is not secured in place with screws.)
CAUTION
Do not short the ISO_5 V and ISO_COM.
When connecting a relay coil to the EXT. I/O output terminal, connect a counter-
electromotive force absorbing diode.
The instrument can be damaged.
Follow the procedure below before wiring the EXT. I/O connector.
1. Turn off the power of this instrument and the instrument to be connected.
2. Discharge static electricity from your body.
3. Check that the signal does not exceed the external input and output rating.
4. Properly isolate this instrument and the instrument to be connected to the EXT. I/O
connector terminal.
