Shutting Down the Output of the Instrument (Interlock Function)

2.6 Shutting Down the Output of the Instrument

(Interlock Function)

The interlock function is a function to shut down the output of the instrument by linking with external
equipment, etc.
When the interlock operates,

START

key operation is disabled. Due to this, any test cannot be

started even with the EXT. I/O START signal or a communications command.

When EXT. I/O pin No. 3 (INTERLOCK) is OFF (open), the interlock function is activated and the

output of the instrument is shut down.

To start a test, set the pin to ON (short circuit).

You can still check the measured value and set the measurement conditions even in the interlock
state.

If the

START

key is pressed during in the interlock state

[ILOCK]

is displayed when the instrument

is in the interlock state.

If the

START

key is pressed during the

interlock state, the

[INFO:070]

message

is displayed.

If the interlock activates during testing

If the interlock activates during testing, the output voltage will be halted, and the instrument will
enter the stopped state.
In addition, the

[INFO:104 Measurement aborted by interlock.]

message will be displayed.

When using the EXT. I/O interlock cancellation jig

The included EXT. I/O interlock cancellation jig shorts the No. 3 (INTERLOCK) and

No. 9 (ISO_COM) pins.

The interlock state can be cancelled by connecting the jig to the instrument’s EXT. I/O connector.
