Communications Command Examples

8.10  Communications Command Examples

Communications commands for controlling the instrument using the communications function are 

introduced here.

When a command is sent, a message terminator (CR, LF, etc.) needs to be added, however, it is 
omitted in this section. The terminator (CR+LF) added to responses is also omitted in the same 

manner.

Verification example before measurement

This is an example of checking the instrument status, acquiring the instrument information, etc. 
before measurement.

Communications with the instrument is checked. The manufacturer and model of the unit that 

sends a response are fixed. The serial number consists of 9 digits and the first 4 digits represent 

the manufacturing year and month. In this example, “2206” indicates June 2022. When controlling 

multiple units of the instrument, refer to the serial number and check the connection destination is 

correct. The version number may change due to software upgrade.

The FPGA version is checked.

The adjustment date and calibration date are checked.

Perform a self-check and check that the instrument passes the test.

Repair is necessary if the instrument fails the test.

The error information is checked. 

When the error number is not 0, refer to the error list and take appropriate measures.
