2.5 Connecting the Test Leads to the Device Under
Test (DUT)
DANGER
Do not short wires carrying a voltage with the tips of the test leads.
Doing so could cause a short-circuit, resulting in serious bodily injury.
CAUTION
Adequately discharge the residual electric charge of the DUT before connecting
the test leads.
Connecting the test leads to the charged DUT can damage the instrument.

Check the residual electric charge of the DUT.
Fully discharge any residual electric charge, if any, and then connect the test leads to the DUT.

Connect the test leads to the DUT.

Start the test.
