Displaying the Measured Value

4.3  Displaying the Measured Value

When the display range is exceeded, 

[Over.F]

 or 

[Under.F]

 is displayed on the screen.

The display range varies depending on the resistance range.

For the display range, see “9.2 Input, Output, and Measurement Specifications” (p. 180).

IMPORTANT

 • In the auto range, it may take time for the measured value to be displayed due to range 

movement. Select the manual range to check the measured value immediately.
See “3.2 Setting the Range (Auto/Manual)” (p. 36).

 • If a test with the auto-range function enabled ends without the ranging having been determined 

at any point during the test, no measured value is shown. Set a longer test time.

 • In the auto range, the range may swing between two ranges depending on the measured value. 

If this is the case, select the manual range.

 •

[Over.F]

 (overflow) is displayed when the display range of the maximum range is exceeded in 

the auto range and when the maximum display range of each range is exceeded in the manual 
range.

 •

The measured value tends to fluctuate more when the electrostatic capacitance included in the 
DUT is greater. Also it takes longer for the output voltage to rise.

 • If the rise time of the voltage is short, the display update for voltage monitoring may not be 

able to keep up. When checking the output voltage, use a high voltage test lead and check the 
waveform on an oscilloscope, etc. However, the linearity of the output voltage’s rising edge 

may be compromised due to the effects of the input impedance of the high-voltage test leads or 

other waveform observation probes.
