Communications Command Reference
Standard command
Querying the instrument ID (Identification Code)
Syntax Query
*IDN?
Response

• Manufacturer name: HIOKI
• Model name: BT5525
• Manufacturing serial number:
Returns the serial number.
• Version:
Returns the software version number.
Description
Queries the character string that identifies the instrument.

*IDN?
HIOKI,BT5525,210612345,V1.00
Changing the settings to the default settings (except for the communications settings)
Syntax Command
*RST
Description Sets the instrument to the default settings. The communications settings, however, are not
changed.
When the command is executed during the test, an execution error occurs.

Executing a self-test
Syntax Query
*TST?
Response

Result{PASS|FAIL}
Description Executes a self-test for the instrument and returns the result.
PASS
is returned when the instrument passes the test.
Repair is necessary if
FAIL
is returned. Please contact your authorized Hioki distributor or
reseller.

PASS
A self-test has been executed and it has found no problem.
