8.1 Interface Overview and Features
The instrument can be controlled using the RS-232C interface, LAN interface, or USB interface.
It is not necessary to set which interface to use. However, use a single interface to control the
instrument to avoid malfunction.
For the specifications, see “Interface specifications” (p. 186).
After the power is turned on, the Measurement screen is displayed. Wait for approximately
3 seconds to send a communications command.
For communications command and query notations, see “8.9 Communications Command
Reference” (p. 130).
Remote state and local state
The instrument is in the remote state during communications and
[RMT]
is displayed on the
Measurement screen. Any operation keys except for the
MENU
key and
STOP
key become
disabled.
[LOCAL]
Cancels the remote state and returns to the local state.
Stops measurement.
Pressing the
MENU
key cancels the remote state and enables the key operations.
