Distributor Cabinet
The distributor cabinet is mounted on the back of the horizontal furnace. The distributor
cabinet houses the main power switch of the system, the fuses for the individual
consumer and control circuits, the power supply units, the operating hour meter, the
overtemperature protection unit (option) and the fans.
The main power switch is used to switch the power voltage for the thermal processing
equipment on and off. It serves as emergency stop switch.
If the system is not equipped with an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) (option), all
systems will fail when the power supply fails. All process gas and vacuum valves
except the inert gas emergency purging valves are closed. The CESAR control
computer saves the data of the current process condition.
The CESAR control computer will continue the recipe run at the current process
condition as soon as the power supply is restored, provided the recipe contains no
contrary commands. The processing is terminated if the temperature-has fallen too far
and an abort tolerance is programmed.
If the equipment has an uninterrupted power supply (option), the equipment will
continue to function for eight minutes after a failure of the main power supply. The
uninterrupted power supply decouples the following subsystems from the stability of the
main power supply:
—
CESAR control computer
—
gas supply system
—
loading machine
The processing is continued, but the heating is switched off. The processing is
terminated if the temperature-has fallen too far and an abort tolerance is programmed.
Unplug the secondary voltage connections to ensure that the UPS is entirely dead
before preventive maintenance work. Observe the manufacturer's notes see chapter
12.10 Suppliers' Documents, page 12-4.
4.6
Vacuum System
The vacuum system (option) is installed for CVD processing.
For further information on the vacuum system, please refer to the gas and electrical
circuit diagram, see chapter 12.2 Drawings, Circuit Diagrams, Overviews, page 12-1.
