9.4.3.2 Installing the Tube Closure - Closed Tube System
Only open the compressed air after connecting all connecting hoses. Otherwise
uncontrolled door movements could damage the door and the process tube.
1. Switch off the compressed air at the pressure reducing valve within the toxic gas
exhaust.
2. Open the throttle valves to allow manual movements of the tube closure up to the
stops.
3. Mount the quartz stopper supports on the tube closure. Manually tighten the
screws.
4. Move the tube door closure lever into the lower moved out position.
5. Screw the quartz stopper with the quartz stopper support onto the tube closure
lever. Only one fastening screw is required.
6. Use the stops to adjust the tube closure. The tube closure should hang down
slightly to the right resp. left. The adjustment must be carried out for all directions
so that the quartz stopper will settle firmly against the tube closure.
7. Manually close the tube closure. Set the "Boat SETPOINT – ACTUAL = 0"
command at the CESAR control computer, i.e. the tube closure is closed.
8. Close all throttle valves.
9. Set the compressed air for the toxic gas exhaust to 4,5 bar at the pressure
controller.
10. Use the throttle valve to adjust each movement determined by the CESAR control
computer. There are throttle valves for each direction.
11. Adjust the limit switches.
12. Close the tube closure and check the process tube for leakage under the following
conditions:

10-20 mbars overpressure with 1 l nitrogen flow at room temperature
—
10-20 mbars overpressure with 1 l nitrogen flow at maximum permissible
process temperature
