Gas Cabinet
The gas cabinet receives gases from the "inhouse supply" of the operator and
distributes the gases to the individual stacks in the diffusion system, refer to layout
listed in chapter 12.2 Drawings, Circuit Diagrams, Overviews12-1
In the upper part of the gas cabinet each main gas line is equipped with pressure
reducing valves, pressure gauges, shutoff valves, front-end particulate collectors
(depending on process gas) and rinse valves for toxic, corrosive, and flammable gases.
The gas supply systems for the stacks consist of shut-off valves, check valves, mass
flow controllers and supply lines for the process tube gas inlet. Optionally, a synthesis
steam generator, a bubbler system or a flaring unit can be connected there.
A gas discharge pipe is used to guide the waste gases from the process tubes into the
exhaust suction box. The gas outlet of a stack is e. g. equipped with a cooling spiral
(option) or a cooling spiral and a condensation bottle (option).
The vacuum valve, the pressure control device and the cold trap or particle trap
(option) of vacuum process tubes are mounted in the gas cabinet. This is where the
pipe of the external vacuum pump connects.
All process gas and vacuum valves except the inert gas emergency purging valves are
closed in case of power failure of loss of pressure. The process tube is purged with
inert gas.
4.4.1
Synthesis Steam Generator
A synthesis steam generator (option) feed water steam to the process tube of one of
the stacks for wet oxidation. The synthesis steam generator consists of the following
assembly groups:
—
generator vessel with water cooled jacket
—
supply lines for oxygen and hydrogen
—
heating
—
ultraviolet sensor
—
ratio and temperature monitoring
For further information on the synthesis steam generator, please refer to the synthesis
steam generator documentation, see chapter 12.5 Information on the Gas System,
page 12-2.
