Commissioning and Decommissioning
7.1
Preparation for Initial Startup
All basic settings must be properly finished prior to initial startup. In addition, you must
carry out all settings necessary for customization and to guarantee the reliable and
troublefree operation of the equipment.
If toxic and/or noxious media are used in the system, the operating company must
install an online monitoring and a gas analysis system in the gas cabinet case exhaust
of the inhouse exhaust system. In case of disturbance this system detects escaping
gas and reacts as soon as possible.
Carry out the following checks to ensure safety during initial startup. The results may
not be objectionable.
1. Check if possible transport damages have been taken care of.
2. Check if the first meters of the internal gas exhaust system are made of heat-
resistant material.
3. If the system is equipped with one or several water-cooled heating cassettes,
check if the overpressure line is connected to the overpressure valve in the gas
cabinet. The overpressure line must be resistant to hot water steam of max.
150 °C.
4. Check if all screw connections are firmly tightened.
5. Check for full operativeness of safety measures against hazardous contact voltage
according to valid regulations.
6. Check if all lines for compressed air, cooling water, process gases as well as all
electrical-power cords have been completely and correctly installed.
7. Check if the gas systems and the cooling water cycle are without leak.
8. Check if hoses or electrical-power cords were laid upon sharp edges or rub against
sharp edges when in motion. If so, reposition the hoses or electrical-power cords
or cover the edges with an edge protection.
9. Check filters, exhaust filters and sound absorbers for contamination and clean if
necessary.
10. Check if mains voltage is on.
11. Purge the process gas- and cooling water lines according to instructions.
7.2
Initial Startup
Initial startup of the equipment may only be carried out by centrotherm service
personnel.
