Using PPP Security
The Model 5390 server supports two authentication protocols for PPP:
•
Password Authentication Protocol (PAP).
•
Challenge-Handshake Protocol (CHAP).
Both of these protocols are run over the PPP link after the LCP negotiations are complete (for more
details on using a PPP link, see Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) starting on page A8-1).
NOTE:
The Model 5390 server logs security events for ndp-mode ports
as described in the Administering the Annex DOS Dial-out Software
documentation.
