The netstat –z command display looks like this:
5390_01# netstat –z
ping
The CLI superuser ping command elicits an ICMP Echo Response from a specified host. The
command prints a line of output for each response returned. The syntax is:
ping [–artv] host [data_bytes [count]]
Table A10-5 explains the –a argument, which is the only one related to AppleTalk.
The ping command continually sends one request per second, and displays a line of output for every
response. Entering any character from the keyboard stops ping. The count allows you to send a
limited number of requests. When ping stops, it displays a brief summary. For more details on the
ping command, see ping on page C3-35.
The ping display for an AppleTalk node looks like this:
