144 . Clarus 590 GC User’s Guide

The following figure shows an installed PID.

Setting Up a PID

To set up a PID, read the PID setup summary, then follow the steps.

PID Setup Summary

To set up a PID:

•

Turn on the oven and the detector heaters.

•

Adjust the make-up gas.
Adjust the make-up gas flow if using a capillary column at flows of

≤

10 mL/min.

•

Turn on the UV lamp.

•

Optimize the lamp intensity.

Turn on the Oven and the Detector Heaters

NOTE: A PID can only be installed in the Detector 2 position (rear).

Close the oven door. This turns on the oven heater.

From the System Status screen touch the PID icon
