9.7 Credit Card Terminal Issues (Bluetooth)
Most Bluetooth credit card terminal issues arrise from becoming disconnect-
ed in Bluetooth settings on the iPad. This section will cover the MP200L, as it is
currently our only supported Bluetooth terminal.
Connecting the MP200L to Bluetooth
1.
Begin by opening your Bluetooth settings on the iPad. This can be found by leav-
ing the Paradise app (clicking the Home key on the front of the iPad once) and
selecting the Settings app. Once opened, find Bluetooth and select it. Use the
toggle to turn Bluetooth off and back on.
2.
Check to see if the MP200L is connected. If it says Not Connected, select the
device. It will either now say Connected or will give you a Bluetooth error. In the
case of an error or the terminal is still not working even when it says connected,
follow the next steps.
3.
We will need to forget the device on the iPad in order to reconnect it. While
still in the Bluetooth section of the Settings application, find the MP200L again.
There should be a small blue ‘i’ next to it. Select this and on the next page, tap
Forget This Device.
4.
Once the device is disconnected, we can attempt to reconnect the device. On
the credit card terminal, there is a button that has a Bluetooth symbol on it.
Press and hold this button until the device asks you to enter a BT pairing pin.
5. Go back to the iPad’s Bluetooth settings. If the device does not appear in Other
Devices in about twenty seconds, turn Bluetooth off and back on again. Once
the device appears, select it.
6. The iPad will prompt you with a six digit pairing pin. Type this pin into the
MP200L terminal. If you have typed the digits correctly, the iPad will now have
the device listed as Connected and the MP200L will go back to it’s ‘Welcome’
screen. Test the device with a transaction to ensure it works. The Paradise POS
app may need to be restarted for this to start working properly again.
