6.7 Edit Departments - Tax Rates in Your System
Departments allow you to set tax rates for different groups of items in your
database. This is especially helpful for reporting purposes and for items that may
have different tax rates such as Food, Beverages, Wine, Liquor, Etc. Be sure to
check your departments before using the system to make sure the correct tax rates
have been set up for you.
When you select Edit Departments, the left of the screen will display your
current departments. When you select a department or create a new one using the
New Department button at the top right of the screen, a few options will appear.
•
Taxable:
when enabled, allows the department to tax at the rate provided in Tax
Rate.
• Track Time:
save the time it was sent to the kitchen so that you can store the
time it was sent for use in future reporting.
•
Tax Rate:
sets the tax rate of the department.
