6.21 External Deceleration
6.21.1 Outline
External deceleration is a function designed to decelerate a feedrate to the external deceleration speed specified by the
parameter when the external deceleration input signal (referred to as External deceleration signal) turns ON.
External deceleration signals are prepared for each direction (+/-) of each axis, and are enabled when the signal input
coincides with the travelling direction. There are two types of method to specify the external deceleration speeds: to set
the external deceleration speed common to all the axes, or to set external deceleration speeds individually for each axis,
which can be selected by the parameter.
6.21.2 Function Description
When the parameter "#1239 set11/bit6" is OFF, external deceleration speed setting is common to all the axes.
When External deceleration signal (Y7E0~) (+/- directions for each axis) turns OFF, external deceleration is enabled,
and the axis is decelerated to the speed specified by the parameter.
External deceleration speed is set in "#1216 extdcc".
(1) During non-interpolation
When the below conditions are met during non-interpolation positioning in automatic or manual mode, the axis (1)
decelerates to the external deceleration speed.
(a) There is any axis that travels in the same direction as of External deceleration signal.
(b) The feedrate of axis (a) is exceeding the external deceleration speed.
(2) During interpolation
When an axis for which External deceleration signal is enabled is included among travelling axes and the
interpolation speed exceeds the external deceleration speed, the external deceleration speed is applied.
(a) One or more axes travel in the same direction as of External deceleration signal.
(b) The interpolation speed of axes including (a) is exceeding the external deceleration speed.
When the parameter "#1239 set11/bit6" is ON, external deceleration speed setting is individual for each axis.
When External deceleration signal (Y7E0~) (+/- directions for each axis) turns OFF, external deceleration is enabled,
and the axis is decelerated to the speed specified by the R register and parameter. External deceleration speed can be
selected from up to 6 levels. The selection values of external deceleration speed range from 0 to 5, and are set to the R
registers (R6052 to R6067) in binary form.
The table below shows the correspondence between R register values and speeds.
(1) During non-interpolation
When the below conditions are met during non-interpolation positioning in automatic or manual mode, the axis (a)
decelerates to the external deceleration speed.
(a) There is any axis that travels in the same direction as of External deceleration signal.
(b) The feedrate of axis (a) is exceeding the external deceleration speed.
