Installation

Check that the SDRAM memory is correctly seated. Visually inspect to make sure the

module is pushed in and the gold “fingers” are not exposed.

Check the standoffs (supports). For guidance, see

Figure 3

•

Hexagon-shaped metal standoff

: Check that the metal standoff is in place on the

PEC-1. It is located toward the front of the module faceplate.

•

Plastic standoff

: Check that the thicker end of the standoff is securely pressed into the

hole on the PEC-1.

Mount the PEC-1 onto the PM-1. See

Figure 3

as a guide.

Carefully align the PEC-1 mount points and the stand-off mount points.

Gently press the smaller end of the standoff onto the PM-1 while aligning the screw mount

point over the hexagon-shaped metal standoff and the PEC mount points. Do not force the

card onto the module.

Secure the PEC-1 to the PM-1 using the supplied screw (located in a small plastic bag attached

to the PEC-1 anti-static bag). This screw attaches to the hexagon-shaped metal stand-off in

overtighten this screw. Insert the PM-1 into the chassis

as described in the procedure “With the exception of the HX Controller PM or CS Controller

PM-1, the other expansion modules can be installed in any bay. However, if a module was

programmed while in one bay, it will need to be reprogrammed if moved to another bay.” on

page 1-180

Check that all cables are connected and plug in the AC power cord. The system boots and when

finished, it displays

MiVoice Office 250

on the LCD panel. This indicates the system is ready to

be programmed.

Refer to the

MiVoice Office 250 Features and Programming Guide

, for information to load the

license file. You can then program the additional IP resources.

IMPORTANT

The pin strap on the front expansion card mount point must be removed

before installing the PEC. Also, if the PEC is removed and/or the PM-1

returned, the strap MUST be in place on the first seven pairs of pins, or the

PM-1 will not function.
