Replacing the Processor Module Battery
Because the CS Controller’s PM-1 battery, part number 815.1026, is located on the module, do
not
remove the cover to replace the battery.
To replace the PM-1 battery:
1. Perform a Database backup using DB Programming. (You can also back up the database via
the LCD panel.) Refer to the Programming chapter in the MiVoice Office 250 Features and
Programming Guide
, for details.
2. Perform a voice mail backup. Use a USB flash drive attached to the USB-A port on the front of
the Mitel 5000 chassis. Do
not
back up VM to the compact flash-type memory card.
3. Shut down the system using the LCD panel. See Figure 4 on
page 169
for an illustration of the
menu locations.
4. Unplug the power cord. Make sure you are wearing a properly terminated, ant-static wrist strap
for the remainder of this procedure.
5. Loosen the fastener at the top of the module.
6. Remove the PM-1 from the CS Controller chassis and place it onto the anti-static bag that came
with the module, or onto some other anti-static surface.
NOTICES
Equipment Damage . Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same
or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the
manufacturer instructions.
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) . MiVoice Office 250 modules and components are static-sensitive.
When working with the modules, use a properly terminated anti-static wrist strap and cover the work
surface with the bag that protected the module during shipping, or place the component on some other
anti-static surface. Any static charge, no matter how small, must be discharged from the body before
touching modules or other components. The warranty for this equipment does not cover damage caused
by static or mishandling. Modules or components damaged in such a manner will not be replaced.
