System Only:
Emergency calls are routed using the system’s designated emergency call routing
rather than using the analog trunk attached to the LIM. This is the default emergency call handling
rule for all phones that do not have a LIM attached.
•
LIM First:
Emergency calls are first routed through the LIM. If unsuccessful, calls will then be
routed through the system.
•
LIM Only:
Emergency calls are routed through the LIM only. If unsuccessful, the display indicates
that the call failed.

Optional Handset Amplifiers
The typical handset amplifier is an external device that plugs into the single line phone where the
handset is normally connected. The handset is then plugged into the amplifier. Receiver voice volume
is controlled by turning a thumbwheel or similar control located on the amplifier. Such amplifiers are
generally equipped with a transformer that requires a 110 VAC outlet. For installation instructions,
see “Installing a Single Line Handset Amplifier” on page 367.
The 800-ohm loop limitation is usually suitable for accessing on-premises phones from off-premises
phones. However, for applications where one off-premises phone will be calling another through the
T1 span, the impedance between the two off-premises phones (both circuits added together) must
be less than 800 ohms (loop measurement). In this situation, a Class A or B FIC circuit is preferable.
When an IP SLA circuit is designated for OPX use in DB Programming, its voice volume levels are
increased approximately 3 dB over normal single line phone voice volume levels. This increase in
NOTE
When using the analog line attached to the LIM, the phone’s functionality is reduced to that
of a basic telephone without any features. For example, users are unable to change volume,
mute calls, transfer calls, put calls on hold, etc.
