MiVoice Office 250 Installation and Administration Guide

Application Software and Security

By default, the system uses DHCP to obtain system network settings. Mitel recommends that you 

do the following using the LCD application when you complete the initial system configuration:
• Replace the DHCP network settings with static IP settings.
• Disable DHCP.

The LCD application also provides access to other system configuration options and actions and 

communicates with Call Processing via the Resource Command Handler (RCH). 

The LCD application does not require you to enter a password to access any of the system menus 

or options via the LCD panel and buttons. Therefore, the system should be installed in a secure 

location. Only certified Mitel technicians should have access to the MiVoice Office 250 hardware 

and software. 

Idle Display

The idle display may include the hostname for the server (

MiVoice Office 250 <

Hostname

). The 

hostname is configurable in Database Programming. If you change the system's hostname, the new 

hostname is displayed within 15 seconds. If the hostname is blank, the idle display shows only
