SIP Trunks License

Each SIP trunk requires a license. For 5000 v3.0 and earlier, SIP trunks used the IP Gateway Trunks 

license, part number 840.0234. For 5000 v3.1 and later, SIP trunks use the SIP Trunks license, part 

number 840.0833. This was used for connections to a SIP gateway. The newer SIP Trunks license 

replaces the older IP Gateway Trunk license. When you upgrade to v3.1 or later, an IP Gateway 

Trunk license converts to the newer SIP Trunks license. New installations of v3.1 or later using the 

SIP peer for trunk groups must purchase one SIP Trunks license for each SIP peer trunk. Each SIP 

trunk allows one concurrent call. The newer SIP Trunks license is used for connecting to a SIP 

gateway or for Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) access. 

Unified Voice Messaging

Each Unified Voice Messaging port is licensed, including the first four. Four UVM port licenses are 

included. Additional 4-port licenses must be purchased in order to use additional UVM ports.

Phone Model-Specific Licensing

All IP phones are licensed in accordance with three licensing categories. 

Table 1
