Chapter 4: Installation
4. Attach one end of the tubing to the Oxidizer port, and tighten the PEEK nut finger-tight.
5. Insert the other end of the tube assembly into the opening of the carboy.

To connect the acid
Transfer the 3M hydrochloric acid or 6M phosphoric acid into the “Acid” bottle, and insert the end of the tube
assembly into the opening of the carboy. For additional details, see
“Preparing the Acid” on page 180
.
Step 10: Connect the Compressed Gas
Installing the Carrier Gas Supply
The Analyzer uses low-CO
2
gas as carrier gas and as sparge gas. This requirement can be satisfied using
compressed air if the optional Regenerative Air Purifier is installed. The Air Purifier removes CO
2
and moisture
from compressed air that is pressurized from 50 to 100 psig (138 to 689 kPa).
The minimum air demand (flow capacity) is determined by the pressure applied. Determine the required purge,
purifier air inlet, and flow based on the supply (operating) pressure (shown in
), as follows:
Purge Flow (from Table A) + Analytical Flow = Required Purge Flow.
For example, with a 50 psi air supply feeding one Analyzer:
3.1 LPM + .40 LPM = 3.5 LPM
The maximum available analytical flow in this example is 1.2 L/min (0.6 scfm).
