Chapter 9: Troubleshooting
6423 – Reactor Heating Error
Message: “There was a problem encountered with the heater reaching the target temperature during the
analysis cycle. Go to the
Diagnostics
screen and run the Heater Test. If the test does not pass, please export the
errors and contact GE Analytical Instruments for further instructions.”
Explanation: The heater failed to reach the temperature needed for oxidation of the sample. Or, the heater has
become too hot. The Heater test aids in determining the cause.
6424 – Reactor Cooling Error
Message: “If the IP56 option is installed, wash the air filter if it is dirty. Otherwise, check for obstructions at the
reactor cooling air inlet and outlet (bottom and right side of case). Go to
Diagnostics
screen and run the Heater
test, and check for air flow out of the reactor cooling air outlet after 190 sec. Export the errors and contact
GE Analytical Instruments for further instructions.”
Explanation: The reactor did not cool down in the allotted time.
6425 – Check Standard Warning
Message: “Check Standard is outside tolerance limits. Replace the check standard and repeat the measurement.
If the warning persists, the Analyzer may require calibration. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.”
Explanation: The Check Standard solution may have changed concentration, the tolerance limits may need to be
adjusted, or the Analyzer may have to be calibrated.
6426 – PDF Document Error
Message: “Shutdown the Analyzer and then power cycle the Analyzer. If the problem persists, please export the
errors and contact GE Analytical Instruments for further instructions.”
Explanation: This error is associated with the creation of a .pdf file. If you are creating a .pdf from the Analyzer,
shut down the Analyzer, power cycle and repeat. If the problem persists, contact GE Analytical Instruments for
further instructions.‘
6427 – Bus Error
Message: "An error was detected during communication. First, evaluate LEDs on individual boards. All boards,
except the NDIR’s, should have a green LED to indicate power. Any yellow LEDs blinking faster than once per
second, other than the NDIR board, may indicate a problem. Next, shut down the Analyzer; turn off power. Check
