3.5 System inputs and outputs
List of system inputs and outputs
The following system inputs and outputs are available in the robot system for
remote control of operating mode and must be activated in the I/O configuration
file, see
Activate the system inputs and outputs on page 71 .
Description System inputs
Remote request of automatic mode OpModeReqAuto
Remote request of manual reduced speed mode OpModeReqManual
Acknowledgement of automatic mode AckAutoMode
Enable remote control RemoteOpModeEnable
Acknowledge a change in the PROFIsafe communication. ProfiSafeOpAck
Description System outputs
Automatic mode needs to be acknowledged OperatorModeAutoChange
Activate the system inputs and outputs
The system inputs and outputs can only be defined by editing the I/O configuration
file, they cannot be defined by using the FlexPendant or RobotStudio.
Use the following procedure to activate the system inputs and outputs:
Action
Save a copy of the I/O configuration file, eio.cfg , using the FlexPendant or RobotStudio. 1
Edit the I/O configuration file, eio.cfg , using a text editor. 2
Add the system inputs to the group
SYSSIG_IN
as in the following example:
-Signal "my_signal_name" -Action "AckAutoMode"

my_signal_name
is the name of the configured digital input signal that should be
used as the system input.
Add the system outputs to the group
SYSSIG_OUT
in the same way. 4
Save the file and reload it to the controller. 5
Restart the system to activate the signals. 6
