Administration
The Inter-Tel 5000 platform provides administrative functions through its network connection.
These functions include:

IP Endpoints and Trunks
The Inter-Tel 5000 platform communicates to endpoints through the internet protocol (IP). There
is an Inter-Tel proprietary protocol known as Inter-Tel Proprietary mode (ITP) as well as the
industry-standards protocol SIP, MGCP, OAI, and RTP.

Inter-Tel Private Networking
The Inter-Tel CS-5200/5400/5600 is capable of connecting with other Inter-Tel CS-5200/5400/
5600 and Inter-Tel Axxess systems to form a network that supports many call processing
features. This networking capability can be implemented using point-to-point T1 or PRI circuits,
or it can be implemented using IP. This appendix is focused on IP-based Inter-Tel networking.
