Features not Supported in v2.4

The following sections describe features that are not supported in v2.4. 

Mitel Endpoint Features not Supported in v2.4

The following features are currently not supported for Mitel IP endpoints:

•

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) mode

•

Off-Hook Voice Announce (OHVA) 

•

Auto Network Address Translation (NAT) Detection 

•

User Datagram Protocol (UDP) discovery (the ability of the endpoint to figure out where 
the Inter-Tel 5000 is by broadcasting)

•

Endpoint password support

•

Wideband audio on Models 5330 and 5340 (both models have wideband-audio hardware, 
but Inter-Tel 5000 systems do not support wideband audio)

•

Katakana characters (Japanese language) 

•

Peripherals that require call processing (CP) support

•

Encryption 

System Features Not Supported in v2.4

Unified Messaging (UM) v2.2 and v2.3

: UM versions 2.2 (VPU) and 2.3 (EM) will no longer be 

supported after April 30, 2008. Inter-Tel recommends that current UM v2.2 and v2.3 installations 
upgrade to UM Open Standards Edition (OSE). See “Unified Messaging Open Standards 
Edition” on 

page 1-5

 for more information.

New Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Gateways

The following new SIP gateways are available through the Inter-Tel CommSource

®

 division:

•

Quintum

®

 AFT 400 SIP gateway

•

AudioCodes™ MP-114 SIP gateway

These gateways replace the AudioCodes MP-104 SIP/MGCP Gateway that has gone end-of-
life in October 2006. Both gateways support analog Foreign eXchange Office (FXO) ports. The 
setup procedure is different for each device; the MP-114 gateway uses a Web interface called 
the AudioCodes Web administrator, while the AFT 400 gateway uses a Configuration Manager 
program and a Command Line Interface (CLI). Existing 5000 systems must upgrade to v2.2 or 
later to support the gateways. For more information, refer to the
