The following information does not apply to a non-display endpoint, such as the Model 8600.
While the application code is executing, you will see the following display as it moves through
several states. After the endpoint is connected to the IP card, the default display appears on the
LCD.
Several displays have a “/” character at the end that is a rotating bar to indicate that the device
is working.

Download State:
The file is being downloaded to the
endpoint.
FIRMWARE
DOWNLOAD SUCCESS
Completed State:
The download completed successfully.
The endpoint will reboot momentarily.
ERROR
TFTP FAIL
Error State – TFTP Fail:
The endpoint failed to contact
the TFTP server, or the file requested is not available at
the server. It could also indicate that the TFTP server does
not have permission for the endpoint to retrieve the file.

TFTP FAIL START
Error State – TFTP Fail Start:
The TFTP server failed to
start due to lack of resources. If this occurs, reboot the
endpoint.

BAD FLASH
Error State – Bad Flash:
The endpoint is unable to
program the new firmware to the flash device. If this
occurs continuously, return the endpoint for repair.

TFTP TIMEOUT
Error State – TFTP Timeout:
The TFTP protocol timed
out due to network problems, such as bad network traffic.

WRONG VERSION
Error State - Wrong Version:
The firmware version of the
file being downloaded does not match the version in the
version field in the configuration file (xxxx_image_ver or
8690_dsp_image_ver).

WRONG PLATFORM
Error State – Wrong Platform:
The file requested does
not match the endpoint type.

MISC ERROR
Error State – Miscellaneous Error:
A miscellaneous
error, such as file corruption, occurred.
ERROR
NOT GZIP
Error State – Not Gzip:
The file requested is not in the
correct format.
ERROR
INVALID FILE ID
Error State – Invalid File ID:
The file does not contain the
necessary version information and platform type.
