As an Inter-Tel 5000-certified technician, you should be familiar with Inter-Tel 5000 platform
architecture and operation. And, you should be able to use the Web-based technical support
features provided by Inter-Tel, Inc. For example, the installation and upgrade procedures require

NOTICE
This manual is designed for Inter-Tel certified field technicians. It does
not
provide detailed
instructions for carrying out tasks typically performed by competent telephone technicians.
For example, the manual does not include premises wiring practices as required by the
National Electrical Code [BS 6701 in Europe]. Excluded from this manual are procedures for
cable layout and installation, AC power installation and appropriate grounding, how to
eliminate or prevent the effects of RFI, EMI, lightning, AC power disturbances or static
discharge, and other telephony practices considered standard within the industry. Cable
installers, electricians, and field technicians are expected to be properly trained and, if
applicable, licensed in their trade practices.
Inter-Tel system certification is required of any
person requesting Inter-Tel technical assistance.
