The DND alert tone generated on a Mitel IP endpoint differs from the DND alert tone
generated on an Inter-Tel IP endpoint.
•
Speakerphone (handsfree) volume is generally lower on Mitel IP endpoints when
compared to Inter-Tel IP endpoints. This includes both DTMF and voice audio.
•
The Models 5330 and 5340 have Navigation Page buttons located below the LCD to
navigate between the three display pages. If you navigate to the second or third pages,
you must use the Navigation Page buttons to return to the first page. (You are not
automatically returned to the first page after using features or when the endpoint is idle.)
The Home button (
) on the Model 5340 also returns you to the first page.

The Models 5330 and 5340 have self-labeling buttons (they do not use designation cards).
•
Several Mitel IP endpoint feature buttons behave differently than Inter-Tel feature buttons.
Mitel feature buttons descriptions are shown in the
Inter-Tel 5000 Features and
Programming Guide (part no: 580.8006).
•
Mitel IP endpoints do not support the Automatic Network Address Translation (NAT)
address type. In DB Programming, you must select either Native or NAT for private and
public networks. Refer to the
Inter-Tel 5000 Features and Programming Guide (part no:
580.8006) to configure the NAT address type.
•
On Inter-Tel 5000 systems, the Mitel Model 5340 endpoint Backlight Timer is set for five
minutes of inactivity (no button presses or audio, including music). After five minutes of
inactivity, the display dims to 20% of the maximum brightness (the display backlight cannot
be turned off). You cannot adjust these default settings. On Mitel 3300 systems, the
Backlight Timer and percentage of maximum brightness settings are adjustable.
See Table 1-1 for a description of the Mitel IP Endpoint feature buttons. Refer to the user guides
for any Mitel or Inter-Tel endpoints for additional information on a specific model type.

Places the current call on hold.

Left/backspace when entering dialpad characters.
(Transfer)

Transfers the current call.
•
Right/forward when entering dialpad characters.
(Message)
•
Connects to the voice mailbox and flashes when messages are
waiting.
•
Toggles between Alpha Mode and Numeric Mode when entering
dialpad characters.
