GMSK Phase & Frequency (PFER) Results
The GMSK Phase & Frequency (PFER) measurement used in the GSM mode is used in the sequencer. If the
analysis step has requested this measurement then the results returned for the analysis step within the
List Sequencer measurement are listed below.
For more information on each result see the online help for the relevant radio standard measurement
mode.
The SCPI-only header values are as follows:
Meas Bitmap Header is a floating point number which appears ahead of the results for the analysis
interval; it is a decimal representation of the meas bitmap value for the measurements included in the
interval. The value returned for PFER results is 64. If more than one measurement is included in this
analysis step, then the value returned represents the combined meas bitmap value for all included
measurements, and the results are returned in ascending order of their meas bitmap values.
Number Of Results is a floating point number which appears ahead of the results of a measurement within
the analysis interval; it represents the number of results metrics returned by the measurement. The value
returned for PFER results is 17.
GMSK PFER measurement metrics return the following comma-separated scalar results:

Overall PFER Pass/fail result. It combines all the pass fail values from the results below and OR’s them together. If
any fail this result is 1.0 = fail, 0,0 = pass

RMS Phase Error pass/fail result (1.0 = fail, 0,0 = pass)
2
Peak Phase Error pass/fail result (1.0 = fail, 0,0 = pass)

Frequency Error pass/fail result (1.0 = fail, 0,0 = pass)

Average RMS Phase Error
A floating point number (in degrees) of the rms phase error between the measured phase and the ideal phase over
