Note: Switch fabric connected interfaces cannot be used
Where a single logical interface consists of a number of physical interfaces connected
through a switch fabric on a D-Link hardware model, that logical interface cannot be
part of a link aggregation object.
This is the case for the logical
lan
interface on the NetDefend
DFL-260E
and
DFL-860E
product models.
Physical Interface Requirements
The following are the requirements for the physical Ethernet interfaces associated with a
LinkAggregation
configuration object in NetDefendOS:
•
A maximum of 16 physical interfaces can be aggregated using one
LinkAggregation
configuration object.
•
All the physical interfaces must operate at the same link speed.
•
All the physical interfaces must be connected to the same external switch
Configuring the Mode
The
LinkAggregation
object's
Mode
property and as the external switch are configured in either of
the following modes:
•
Static
When the aggregation is static, NetDefendOS cannot know if one of the interfaces in the
