2.2.2.5 Security
The security section contains the settings for the access control to the SensorApp.
By default, the access control is enabled but can be disabled with DISABLE . The "a dmin " user can edit all
passwords for all users. Changes must be confirmed with SET (no automatic save).
If the access control is disabled, it can be enabled with ENABLE .
Furthermore, it is possible to set the communication mode between the web browser and the BVS ID . By
default, an insecure HTTP connection and the secure HTTPS connection are allowed, however, with " HTTPS
only " only the secured HTTPS connection can be used. The connection request via HTTP is then redirected to
the HTTPS connection request. This setting is only applied after a restart of the BVS ID .
NOTE
If the connection between web browser and the BVS ID takes place via a HTTPS connection, the BVS
ID delivers a self-signed certificate that must be imported into the browser: When opening the
connection, a warning appears in the web browser (e.g. "Warning: possible security risk detected" or
similar). This must be accepted (e.g. click on "Advanced..." and then confirm "Accept risk and
continue"), after which the certificate is imported. If the IP address changes, the old certificate may
have to be deleted (via browser "Settings"
→
"Privacy and Security"
→
"View Certificates"
→
"Server
Certificates") and the new one imported. Once the certificate has been imported, the SensorApp
opens, displaying a warning icon in the URL bar, which can be ignored.

