2.2.2.3 Process Communication
The communication settings allow to setup how to communicate with plugged devices such as PLCs or control
PCs.
Setting Description
Protocol
The communication interface to use:
IO-Link
UDP
TCP
REST-OT
IO-Link status [IO-Link] Shows if there is an active connection to an IO-Link master.
IO-Link Endianness [IO-Link]
Byte order of message elements that consists of multiple bytes:
Little endian: The lowest value byte is transferred first
Big endian: The highest value byte is transferred first
Port [UDP, TCP] The UDP/TCP communication port.
Send status information [UDP, TCP]
Enables automatic sending of status messages every time a status changes. If this is disabled,
status messages will be sent solely upon an explicit request.
TCP/UDP Endianness
Shows the Endianness of the TCP/UDP communication. With UDP and TCP, message elements
are always transferred using little endian.
NOTE
If no network cable is connected to the BVS ID at startup all above-mentioned communication
parameters are not editable. To restore the modifiability of the communication parameters, the network
cable must be reconnected followed by a restart of the
BVS ID .

