Freestanding Dryers Without Metercase
Models CEE2790K & CGE2791K
IMPORTANT SETUP INFORMATION
Using a Palm
Handheld
The electronic control is factory preset to ac-
cept commands from a Palm
handheld
equipped with the appropriate Whirlpool Man-
agement Software. If a handheld will not be
used, the handheld functionality must be dis-
abled as part of the control set up. Failure to
disable handheld functionality may result in un-
authorized machine access. For details, see the
OWNER SETTINGS table “P ACc,” on page 6-12.
Money Acceptors
This electronic control is intended to use a
SMART Card money acceptor, which is avail-
able from independent suppliers of these de-
vices. The electronic control is used on many
different models, including metercase models.
On this machine, the electronic control is fac-
tory preset to accept input only from a coinslide
device. To instruct the control to accept inputs
from other devices or to disable input from a
coinslide, see the OWNER SETTINGS table
(droP, SLidE, CArd,) on page 6-11. These
settings can be also made using a Palm
handheld with the appropriate Whirlpool Man-
agement Software.
Device Connections:
Refer to the installation instructions from the
supplier of the SMART Card. Refer to the
wiring diagram for this product.
Connection to an auxiliary device (SMART
Card) is via the wire harness provided with the
auxiliary device, and plugged into the elec-
tronic control at P-11 AUX.
TIME AND DATE CLOCK
The time and date are not set at the factory.
The electronic control uses a battery to run the
clock. If the wire harness at connector P2 is
unplugged, the battery is disconnected and the
time and date must be reset. The battery has a
life of approximately ten years.
ACCESS MODE
Using a Palm
Handheld With Software
1. Use Service Routine software.
2. To minimize possible infrared (IR) interfer-
ence from other sources, hold the handheld

°
angle no more than three inches
from the control panel, pointed directly at
the right side of the vend-price LED display.
3. After selecting the command, the HIGH
temperature LED begins blinking to confirm
command was received. The machine’s
lifetime cycle count now shows in the dis-
play.
If a Palm
Handheld With Software
Is Not Available
1. Open the console to gain access to the
electronic control.
2. Push and release the small pushbutton
switch (SW1), located on the left side of the
electronic control.
3. The HIGH temperature LED begins blink-
ing to confirm that the switch was pushed.
The machine’s lifetime cycle count now
shows on the display.
NOTE:
The display automatically returns to the
vend-price after 1 minute of inactivity.
SERVICE ROUTINE
