AUXILIARY DEVICE INSTALLATION,
WASHERS AND FREESTANDING
DRYERS

For the purpose of installation instructions the
only auxiliary device detailed will be a SMART
Card reader. The SMART Card reader on all
models  is  connected  to  the  auxiliary  input.
When a SMART Card reader is installed, the
reader becomes the primary over the control,
and the control assumes the secondary role,
display  codes  are  then  driven  by  the  card
reader. Codes will vary between card manu-
facturers. If a code is displayed in the reader
other than codes listed in this manual, consult
the  maker  of  the  card  reader  for  additional
information.

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard

Disconnect power before servicing.

Replace all parts and panels before
operating.

Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.

1. Unplug or disconnect electrical power.

2. Remove coinbox top access panel.

3. Unpack the SMART Card reader and wiring

harness included with the card reader kit.

NOTE:

When routing the harness from the

card reader to the control, care must be taken
not to bundle the card reader harness with the
washer harness. If the two harnesses are
bundled together, signal interference may oc-
cur that would prevent proper card reader
operation.

Incorrect Card Reader Harness Bundling

4. On full-length console models, remove the

mounting screw from the factory installed
blank in the card reader opening and re-
move the blank.

5. Install the card reader control panel bezel

per the manufacturer instructions.

6. Install the card reader into the control panel

per the manufacturer instructions.

7. On metercase models release the coin

funnel from the metercase by prying up on
the plastic retaining clips and lifting up on
the funnel to release it.

8. Turn the funnel up, then remove the funnel

through the timer access panel.

9. Install the card reader into the adapter plate

in the upper metercase opening. Push the
card reader into the metercase, then lock it
in-place by pushing down slightly.
