MONEY ACCEPTOR INSTALLATION

ADVANTECH



models come from the factory

without money acceptors installed. The end
user must install the money acceptor or combi-
nation of acceptors of their choice. Money
acceptors are available in three basic varieties,
coinslides, coindrops and SMART Cards. The
ADVANTECH



control can accept inputs from

all of these devices.

The control can be configured to operate with-
out a money acceptor, or have a coinslide/
coindrop with an auxiliary interface, connected
(card reader) at the same time. With multiple
money acceptor installations, some features of
ADVANTECH



may be limited by the acceptor's

capabilities. For example, if a coinslide is used
on a dryer, the top-off purchase option is lim-
ited to the full amount of the coinslide.

Whirlpool does warranty the proper operation
of the control system when external connec-
tions are made as described within this docu-
ment. External circuits may induce EMI (elec-
tromagnetic interference) which could result in

improper operation of the control system. It is
the responsibility of the money acceptor manu-
facturer to insure proper operation of the aux-
iliary interface device with the ADVANTECH



control. Product modifications void the Whirl-
pool warranty.

The money acceptor type installed must be
programmed into the control either manually or
through use of the ADVANTECH



manage-

ment software and the PDA. Additionally the
vend-amount  of  the  money  acceptor  must
match  the  vend-price  programmed  into  the
control. For information on setting vend-price
and  the  money  acceptor  type  using
ADVANTECH


