b. Using forceps, rinse the components thoroughly with tap water to remove the
detergent.
4. Rinse the components in deionized water. Using forceps, dip the components in a beaker
of deionized water. Change the water if it becomes cloudy. Do not soak or sonicate the
components.
5. Rinse the components with acetone. Using forceps, dip the components in a beaker of
acetone. Change the acetone if it becomes cloudy. Do not soak or sonicate the
components.
6. Blow dry the components immediately. Blow off the acetone from the components with a
clean, dry gas.
CAUTION - INSTRUMENT DAMAGE.
Do not leave aluminum components like the
heater ring in the detergent. It can potentially discolor the aluminum.
