RELEASE 4.X FCP CONVERSION INSTRUCTIONS
17-23 Release 4.X XC1000 Service
If the SMT password was entered incorrectly, do the following:
a. At C:\FCP> , type fcpconv and press Enter .
b. At the FCP conversion Main Menu (Figure 17-49), select
option 2. Perform/Continue Conversion and press
Enter
. When the screen displays the
“... Stopped at
stage #: 10 Continue the Conversion (Y/N): Y” prompt,
press Enter to continue.
c. Go to step 10 in section 17.9 to continue. At the screen
shown in Figure 17-59, enter the correct SMT password.
If the XC1000 was not at the SMT Main Menu when it was
disconnected, do the following:
a. At C:\FCP> , type fcpconv and press Enter .
b. At the FCP conversion Main Menu (Figure 17-49), select
option 3. SMT Emulation . A screen appears, requesting
confirmation of the SMT emulation parameters, with
default values that can be toggled with the space bar.
c. Press End when done. The screen blanks.
d. Press Enter again. The ENTER BOOT COMMAND: prompt
appears. Boot the XC1000 with a 0 (zero).
e. When the PC screen displays the
Please Enter System
Manager Password: prompt, type the password and
press Enter .
f. Press F12 . From the FCP conversion Main Menu
(Figure 17-49), select option 2. Perform/Continue
Conversion
, and press
Enter
. When the screen displays
“... Stopped at stage #: 10 Continue the Conversion
(Y/N): Y”
prompt, press Enter to continue. The conver-
sion resumes from the point where the failure occurred.
14. The automatic script runs for a short time (less than 5 minutes); the
script checks that the upgrade software files are compatible with the
XC1000 type, software releases, languages and phrases. If all files are
compatible, a Final confirmation before conversion screen similar to
Figure 17-62 appears. Go to step 15.
If any of the files are incompatible, the screen displays the following
error message:
“*** Conversion is not allowed ***” and a reason that
the conversion is not allowed. The error message also includes
supporting release information for the discrepancy. Possible reasons
for not allowing a conversion are as follows:
System type is different.
XC1000 software release is not in the supported list.
Language type is not supported.
Phrase UPG is not supported.
Language type is not valid.
Phrase UPGs are duplicated.
