6.3.2.1
Disk Space Critically Low.
If disk space is less than 10%, refer the
problem to an Octel Communications sales representative so that an
additional drive can be purchased. As a temporary measure until the
drive-space issue can be remedied, instruct the system manager to send a
broadcast message to all subscribers requesting that they purge all
unneeded messages.
6.3.2.2
RS-232-C Link Failure.
This alarm is activated when the RS-232-C link
fails. An RS-232-C link failure is reported in menu 6.5, Integration Link
Management. For additional information, check the status log for an F9
error, then refer to section 7.3.22 for a description of an F9 error. Perform
the following steps to correct the link failure:
1. Check that the RS-232-C cable is securely connected to the XC1000.
If this does not solve the problem, proceed with step 2.
2. Check menu 6.5, option 3, to review all the integration links. Check the
field entries for the RS-232 link. If any entries need to be changed, go
to menu 6.5.2 (section 4.8.5.2) and make the necessary changes. If this
does not correct the problem, proceed to step 3.
3. Check the status log for
F9
status-code entries. Look at offset 08,
then refer to section 7.3.22 for the meaning of the entries. Take
action, depending on the subcode at offset 08.
4. If an APID, PID/R, MID, or DMID integration is being used, perform
the following steps:
a. Reset the link using menu 6.5, option 5. (Refer to section 4.8.5.5
for steps to reset the link.)
b. If step a does not restore the link after 15 minutes, reset the
APID, PID/R, MID, or DMID.
5. If the problem persists, call the Octel Communications Technical
Assistance Center.
